Gabriel: Week 38

Today is: March 17, 2013

How far along: 38 weeks

Total weight gain: About 27 lbs.

Baby is the size of: A watermelon! 19-21" and 6-8 lbs.

What's going on with the babe: Gabe could have about an inch of hair, at this point. He has a firm grasp, and his organs have matured and are ready for life outside of the womb.

What's going on with the mama: I really can't complain. I feel like I felt so much worse with Ethan at 38 weeks than I do with Gabe now. I have normal aches and pains, but I'm sleeping great, and I've had so much down time. No complaints.

Baby is a: Boy!

Maternity clothing: Yeah, mostly. Some non-maternity, but very little.

Sleep: Sleep is great. I am so, so thankful. I toss and turn a little, but I'm sleeping pretty solid!

Movement: Moving much less these days, but still rolling around in there!

Cravings/Aversions: Cravings are peppermints, fresh veggies, and chocolate. No aversions.

Symptoms:
- Normal aches.
- Frequent potty breaks.
- Pelvic pressure.
- Heartburn.
- Fatigue.
- Difficulty breathing. Some days, Gabe feels REALLY low, and other days SO high, it's hard to sit up straight and breathe.

How this pregnancy is different than the first:
- Sleep. Sleeping with Ethan, at this point, was lousy. Opposite of what it is with Gabe.
- Cramping and contractions with Ethan. None with Gabe right now.
- Feeling better, in general. I am truly amazed at how much better I feel with Gabe than I did with Ethan, at this point. At 38 weeks exactly, with Ethan, I was in the hospital with contractions and pressure, and sent home. I was uncomfortable, I was stressed, I wasn't sleeping well. With being busy lately, and all the down time I've had now that we're in the apartment, time has really flown, and I barely have time to focus on any aches or pains, and pressure is minimal most of the time.

How the big brother was this week: He's still been borderline angelic. I am really, really enjoying my time with just him right now and savoring it. He's making it easy to enjoy. ;)

The best moment(s) of this past week:
- Setting up "home." Moreso than last week, this feels like home now. For now.
- More financial blessings. :)

I'm looking forward to:
- Gabe arriving in just ONE WEEK!
- Springtime and Easter.
- Finding out if building is something we can do.
- My last doctor's appointment tomorrow!

Outtakes...

"Ethan, touch Mommy's belly." *poke, poke*
Thank God for his & hers walk-in closets. I'm splitting my closet with G. All set up and ready to go!
