10 days! 10 days! 10 days!
10 days until we are in our house! The house was completed yesterday, and this Thursday, we have our walk-through.
It's incredible to me the way this whole process has gone. Our realtor told us in the very beginning that this would be one of the most exciting and one of the most stressful times of our lives. I can't say I agree entirely. Exciting, absolutely! Stressful? Not at all. Perhaps we got lucky in that aspect. It was fun to drive to the community and "shop" for our lot, select it, visit the design center to select colors and styles and everything, and then to see the house go up so quickly. Now, it's completed, and we are moving NEXT WEEK.
I thought it was time to do a visual update. We last visited the house at the end of July, so, this isn't the house completed, but pretty darn close.
Kitchen. Our dishwasher is in. The stove, at the time, was in the garage. We have to purchase a fridge, washer and dryer when we move in.
More kitchen/dining area, looking into the family room.
Kitchen flooring (where I'm standing) and entryway tile.
Another kitchen shot.

Tomorrow, we have our pre-move out inspection here at the apartment. We still have a bit to pack up here, but it's difficult to do that when most of what you have you'll need until the last day or so. We moved here with our basics and put the rest in storage, so, we've packed what we can, and still have a bit we'll have to do next week right before we move.
I am looking forward to seeing everything that's in our 10x20 storage unit. I have a feeling although we'll be moving into a bigger place, I'll be getting rid of a lot. It's pretty crazy to think that our entire house, practically, is in that storage unit and has been untouched for 6 months. We have been able to survive on our basics here. It really puts things into perspective, especially since I'm an impulsive shopper at times who just loves to have new "stuff." I'm not proud of that, but it is what it is, as evidenced by many of my Target trips. :) I go for what I had on my list, but then I see a cute tablecloth or an outfit for one of the boys, and before I know it, I have so much "stuff." It's been kind of eye-opening, in that way, to NOT have all of that "stuff" here with us, and I think it will be refreshing to start fresh at a new place and toss some of the things we don't need out into the garbage (or into other peoples' hands...whichever).
Either way, it's no surprise to you, if you've been hanging around these last 6 months, that we are certainly excited to start this brand new journey in 10 days. To go along with all of this, I have decided to start up Project 365 again on the day that we move to document our entire first year in our new place. I'm looking forward to sharing that here, of course!
Happy Tuesday. :)
